To stay competitive, our schools need teachers who are on the cutting edge of education. Teachers who are inspired to be the best they can be need to have the tools, incentives and leadership skills to accomplish their goals. VFEE offers the Verona School District teaching staff another avenue to pursue ongoing professional development by providing grants that enable teachers and administrators to pursue professional training experiences that are not available through traditional resources.
Teachers as Learners was a grant request to provide the H.B. Whitehorne middle school teacher's resource room with texts that were current, consistent and supportive of the district's new professional development plans. With funds provided by VFEE, the new resource center was stocked with a number of texts that will encourage our teachers to be "life long learners." These texts were purchased and will now continue to help Verona's middle school teachers be better teachers and educators in the future.
